Podiatrist
Karina graduated from Charles Sturt university, Albury and has been a Podiatrist in private practice for 15 years.
She has recently returned from working in Mandurah, Western Australia to be closer to family. She has travelled extensively and worked in private practices in Melbourne, Darwin, Republic of Ireland and Albury/Wodonga where she has gained invaluable experience with a multitude of pathologies and treatment techniques.
She is currently a casual academic lecturer for the University of Western Sydney as well as the Senior podiatrist at U-Physiotherapy.
Karina has completed additional studies including her basic surgical assisting skills course through the Australian College of Podiatric surgeons. She is currently studying for her endorsement in scheduled medicines and is being mentored through a fellow of the college to obtain these prescribing rights.
Her special interest includes Ingrown toenail surgery, biomechanics and 3D printed orthotic prescription, soft tissue injuries, radiology and injection therapies. She has a love of complex cases and strives to keep updated with newer treatment modalities such as laser therapy and shockwave (Ashlee-Might need to change this if no shockwave/laser??)
She has completed post graduate courses in dry tissue needling and laser therapy, running and footwear analysis, Paediatric assessment and Sonography. She has attended theatre placements with Podiatric surgeons and Orthopaedic foot and ankle specialists in Perth, Albury and Darwin.
Additional services include NDIS, DVA, Workers Compensation, Medicare and neurovascular assessments.
Outside of work she enjoys squash, gym and boxing for fitness. She has completed the Perth and Buller Gorge marathons but now prefers to stick with park runs.
Karina works out of our Unanderra practice on Wednesday mornings and Thursdays.
